Sweet September

Who can believe that it is September.  That means summertime is over and kids are going back to school- Baby Sis and I don't go to school yet but I told Mommy that I'm going to go on the bus with Taylor "just one time" to see if I like it because I will have to go in a few years. (Mommy keeps telling me Taylor doesn't take a bus anymore because she's in college- I don't know what she's talking about).

Anyway, so far I like September.  We have gone to a lot of parties! We had Amy's birthday and then my best friend Ava's birthday and then I got to go to a pool party with Mommy & Daddy's friends and that was fun.

We even had a little photo shoot for Amy's birthday- I insisted of course! And it meant I got balloons and we got to go for a nature walk and find rocks- my absolute favorite!

I found some cool leaves and rocks and even shared with Baby Sis. Not my forte these days.

And we walked down to the water but Mom wouldn't let us get in. Baby Sis tried really hard.

We got nice and dirty and got to stay in the bath for a very long time that night.  No complaints here!

I admit the parties were fun, but do you know what was extra special about last week?  I went to my FIRST EVER sleep over! I had a blast and am ready for another one!

Now enough about me, I'll give you the scoop on Baby Sis.

In the last few weeks Ani has really been turning into a big girl at meal time! You may know she has been a little bold in the eating department. She would spit out her food or just not eat it.

So the Dr. told Mommy to make an appointment for her to see a specialist and Ani said, "I'll show you" and the day of her appointment she ate her food all up.

Well I am happy to report that she has been eating so much better ever since and yesterday Baby Sis ate more than she has even eaten at one meal. An entire container of prunes! We cheered, a lot!  I am very glad because now we don't have to spend so much time trying to get Baby Sis to eat.

YAY BABY SIS!
More time to play!!!!

You know what else I'm loving these days...

MORNINGS!

Did you know mornings were for snuggling?

Now that Baby Sis and I are waking up at the same time, we plop right into Mommy's bed for some snuggling before getting ready for our day. Mommy says it's important to do this now because we won't always have mornings together.

I try to find other times during the day to sneak a little snuggle or two...

Like when Mommy is washing dishes & Baby Sis is having her bottle (which, by the way, she usually does not drink while laying on the floor).

Speaking of snuggling. Baby Sis and I also love snuggling with our Furry Sister.

We love our Maddie girl!

Until Next Time!

My Sister is 9 Months Old Today!

It is hard to believe that 9 months ago I was an only child.

I don't even remember what it was like, but I sure do LOVE having a little Sister around to love on and play with.

Ani is not feeling great this week- she has a little bug and took a trip to the ER yesterday because she got clobbered in the eye by my toy broom...my bad.

I feel really bad but Mom said she had fun in the ER...and she didn't need stitches...so that made me feel a little better!

Anyway, even though she wasn't feeling great and has a shiner we still wanted to do something special to celebrate her being here for 9 whole months!

So we went for a walk around the promenade- Baby Sis likes to go fast.  It was fun and we even got froyo- well, more me than her- but it was a nice little treat to celebrate her being a part of our world for 9 whole months!

Did I mention she is 16 and a half pounds and has 5 teeth! She crawls all over the place and has recently started standing up. I think she wants to walk!

Until Next Time!

The past 10 months!

It is just shy of 10 months since the last time we blogged.  SO much has happened...I'll do my best to catch you up.

9 months ago, actually, exactly 9 months ago today, my baby sis was born, so my Mom has been a little busy!

I love my baby sis, she's so cute and I'm glad that she came to live with us. Want to hear the story about the day she was born?...

My Mom had been sick for a few weeks but on this very cold November morning she woke up feeling really good. We decided to go to Coffee Coffee for a breakfast date. We had been trying to have plenty of dates together before my sister came and I wanted oatmeal!  So we went, we had our favorite oatmeal and Mom had her favorite coffee and then said we may as well go into town and finish up a little Christmas shopping before Baby Sis arrived.

We went to Two Sisters my mom discovered I had lost my shoe. In fact, I took it off at Coffee Coffee- I just didn’t tell her! Anyway, she had to carry me into the store and the ladies who work there couldn’t believe she was carrying me. They kept going on and on about it and I was thinking, don’t be silly- that’s why my Mimi made these side carriers- anyway, I like it when my mom carries me and I had just started walking 2 weeks earlier.

When we got home my Mimi came.  I was excited to play with her and Mimi told Mommy to rest up because she thought my sister would come tonight! My mom isn’t great at resting, but she took a bath and then made me some lunch and while she was making my lunch she kept saying “whoooo whoooo” and she kept stopping to take little rests. It was silly.

Anyway then Mimi took me up for a nap and I am told that that is when the excitement started.

My Dad got home at 4 and my mom was carrying on. Then my Grandma came over and my Dad called to have an ambulance come get Mom to take her to have Baby Sis. My Dad wasn’t convinced Mom was going to have the baby so quick because I took so long to arrive. He was wrong.

My Baby Sis, Ani Evelyn arrived at 6:29pm in the back of an ambulance. Mimi was with my mom and a mand named Mike from the Abingdon Fire Department caught her. She was BIG. 9 pounds 14 ounces and 20 and a half perfect inches.

I loved her even before I met her...this was me waiting patiently to meet her. I had fun those 2 days with all my people who came to play while my Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital with my sister.

The next 9 months have gone by in a blur.

Ani came home and she was just the best gift I ever got.

I really liked holding her!

And I was excited she was able to be home in time for Thanksgiving!

Can you tell I like her?

Just like that she was 2 months old...

Then 3 months...

Of pure cuteness!

I plan to teach her a lot of things...

When she was 4 months old she really started doing a lot of fun stuff, like laughing at me...and making me laugh!

And then a month later she had her first food...she seemed to like it...but now, 4 months later, still won't eat much of anything. Silly girl!

Maddie loves Ani too.

Ani started feeling a little better and crying a little less during the day when she was 6 months old. We got to do more fun stuff together!

She started crying less and laughing more. I liked that!

Everything is a little better because I have a sister by my side!

Even bath time is more fun!

So that is sort of what the past 10 months have looked like. We waited for Baby Sister and then she came and life was different, in such a good way. Some mornings are a little busier and sometimes I have to work really hard at sharing, or giving Baby Sis things to play with that aren't too small. And my Mom didn't sleep a lot for the first 7 months so that wasn't that much fun for her I guess, but over all I'd say I am loving life with my baby sis.
