One Month...my how time flys!

Last night Matt & I went on our first date night since Harper was born...just a mini date- dinner and a short hike while Wawa stayed home with our little sweet pea! It seemed appropriate considering that one month ago we spent our last evening as a family of two! It is hard to believe it has been a month since we welcomed our little girl to the world...but then again, it is already difficult to remember a life without her!

What ever did we do with our time?!!

Today Harper had her one month check up.  She weighs 9lb 2oz and is in the 50th percentile for height and 60th percentile for weight.

What's new with our little one?

Harper started sleeping in her bassinet instead of the MamaRoo (though she still adores her Roo...BEST INVENTION EVER!!) She is sleeping really well... sometimes going 4 hours between feedings at night and will typically goes right back to sleep after her bottle.

Things she LOVES this month:

Harper's latest and greatest love...her activity mat (thank's Aunt Krug)! She loves looking up at the birds and owls nearly as much as she loves looking up at the ceiling fan...maybe more because she can actually reach out and touch her stuffed friends! Her face was priceless the first time she realized she could actually touch them! During the time she lays and looks at the ceiling fan I believe she is trying to figure out how to get up there and touch that too!

Tummy time love!  We decided to try out tummy time on her activity mat and it turned out to be a serious success! She can turn her head from left to right (with some serious grunting and hard work) and it turns out being on her tummy gets rid of hiccups (something she has had frequently for the past 10 months...and doesn't really seem to mind)!

Also on Harper's LOVE list...car rides and bath time! She loves car rides...until we have to stop the car---then it's all over. She wants more she wants more!! Come on, it's only fun to be in a car when it's moving and we're grooving to good tunes!

Last but certainly not least...bath time! I predict our little girl is going to dream of being a mermaid one day!  She LOVES her bath! The second the water starts, her eyes pop open and she waits for the glorious moment where the water level is up high enough to touch her bum! Getting out of the bath is another story!

Baby's best friend:
Ok, not quite, but in the  past few days, Maddie has started being a little more accepting of the newest addition to our family.  She was not thrilled at first (she has been our baby for 7 years after all)! I think she finally has caught on to the fact that Harper is here to stay!

Until next time!

Whoa, What A Weekend!!!

Harper had quite a weekend with family and friends!

We spent Friday with Aunt Jess and Cousin Carter.  Carter loves his baby Harper!  All he wanted to do was hold her; he kept saying "me hold, me hold" and touching Baby Harper's little toes. When he finally got his hands on her he was SO gentle, touching her hair very gently and giving her kisses on her forehead.  At one point he looked up and said, "Picture?"-I'm not sure why- does our family take an excessive amount of photos?!!

Friday night Wawa came over for a sleep over! Mommy got to sleep in, and so did Daddy, but only  until 4am when he got up for a four-wheeling competition. meaning Saturday was girls only day! We watched Baby Einstein (and maybe a Lifetime movie), had tummy time and waited patiently for Daddy to come home!

Sunday Funday was just that! Harper finally got to spend some time with her Aunt Sharon and Amy and also got an extra special visit from her Auntie Sue and Grandma! Maddie was fairly convinced that everyone was there to see her!!

Harper was a sleepy little girl while her visitors were here...but woke up promptly as they were saying goodbye and was wide awake for the next 3 hours hanging out on her boppy with Mommy...admiring her new musical toy from Auntie Sue and listening to music!
Then it was time for a bottle, and our sweet pea was out for the count...and, of course, I had to take a picture of how she fell asleep because, COME ON...what baby sleeps like this!
Unfortunately, our sweet little princess only slept for a few hours and then decided she wanted Mommy to rock her the rest of the evening...and morning...It's not 11am and Pop Pop just got here for a visit! Maybe she'll get some rest now...she loves to sleep when company is here!
 Until next time!

Visit from my Scranton Family!!!

Harper was one happy little girl today!

She had a special visit from some of her Scranton cousins!

 Love at first sight!

Lisa had the magic touch- baby girl slept in her arms for 3 hours!

Shane rocked with our first born (Maddie!) and we nearly had him convinced to adopt Puff (but thought his Mom would be less than thrilled)!! Maddie and Harper both love their cousin Shane! We wish he would stay forever!!!

Kisses goodbye are the worst, it made us very sad to see our cousins and Wawa leave...but we're so happy we got to spend the day together!

Three Weeks New

Our Sweet Pea is three weeks new today!
Harper celebrated her big 3 week birthday by having some good old fashion snuggle time with Wawa, watching a Baby Einstein video from Cousin Robyn and spending time with Cousin Allie who came to visit this morning! In the evening, Harper spent some time rocking and crying it out with Dad because her tummy was bothering her.

...Thank you Cousin Allie, I LOVE my princess crown! I have been hearing all this hoopla about this Royal Baby, and frankly, I think someone should tell Princess Kate that I'm next in line for the throne! I mean, check me out people, I look awfully cute in a crown!

Hanging out in my bedroom, making myself laugh!

And here's that Dad of mine, burning the midnight oil. I like it when he rocks me and even more when he gives me a bottle. I really like to drink that white stuff!
Until next time!

Our Little Girl Has Arrived!

On Tuesday, June 25th
at 10:46am
We welcomed Harper Lynne to the world!

21 inches long (our little cone head lost 1.5" by Wednesday)

7lbs 12 oz

10 perfect little fingers

10 perfect little toes

and a full head of hair.

It was love at first sight

3 hours old!

My first morning: waking up with Daddy

The first few hours we just kept saying, "can you believe she is here and she is ours"...our lives were instantly changed!

On Wednesday, after Aunt Jess installed the car seat in our car...we headed home with our precious cargo...

On Thursday Harper had her first outing...unfortunately it was to the Pediatricians office.  We found out that she was a little jaundice. Needless to say, we spent a good amount of the next 7 days trekking back and forth to the Doctor’s until Harper's bilirubin levels went down.

We were so lucky to have Matt home for the first two weeks…minus the Dr. visits we had a really nice time relaxing together and enjoying our new family...and Mommy got a LOT of rest!

Harper also got to meet some of her family...Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins who already love her more than anything in the world!

She is one lucky little girl!

Harper turns ONE WEEK!

We celebrated Harper's ONE WEEK birthday with her first professional photoshoot!
A family friend came all the way from Scranton PA to spend the day shooting our little sweet pea...Lisa and her awesome daughter/assistant McKenna had some serious patience and took the most beautiful photos of our little girl!

Lisa Lee Photography- like her on facebook!

We have decided that Harper has Mommy’s lips and Daddy’s ears, eyes and nose...

Daddy at 3 months
Mommy at 3 months

It's hard to believe Harper is going to be three weeks old on Tuesday- the days go by so quickly....we could sit and watch her sleep for hours!

That's all we have for now...we are hoping to use this blog to update everyone with photos and weekly happenings (instead of Facebook).

So please, if you want to forward this to family or friends you think would like to periodically keep up with our little lovey, feel free! Just please don't post the blog to Facebook!

Until next time!
